Low-Speed Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)

When the vehicle is driving forward or reversing between 1 and 6 mph, the Low-Speed Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)⁶⁹ system uses information from sonar sensors on the front and rear bumpers to detect objects in front of or behind the vehicle, and then assess if there is danger of a collision. Examples of detected objects include vehicles, utility poles, walls and even glass (such as on a storefront). If an object is detected, the system provides visual and audible alerts, and applies throttle control and braking.

Low-Speed Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) can be turned off but will default to on after the vehicle is turned off and restarted.
