ELS Studio 3D™ 17-Speaker Premium Audio System

The TLX A-Spec^® and TLX with Advance Package feature a state-of-the-art 710-watt 17-speaker, 16-channel ELS STUDIO 3D^® Audio System. Building on the 13-speaker system, the 3D system features four Highline^® ultra-slim overhead speakers in the vehicle’s headliner. An additional 3.5-inch driver is positioned in each rear door. An upgraded external amplifier with patented Acoustic Motion Control™ provides 710 watts of system power, delivered through 16 discrete channels.

With three-way front-cabin sound architecture and user-selectable multi-zone audio, the sound image can be personalized to meet the driver's individual taste. Even the rear-seat passengers are treated to an expansive soundstage utilizing 9cm rear door speakers, two Highline^® overhead speakers, two 9cm rear surrounds and Twin Telford™ subwoofers, mounted at an inward-facing angle on the rear parcel shelf to mitigate vibration. This level of audio performance is a new benchmark for Acura sedans.

Engineered by Elliot Scheiner, the 3D system is designed to create an immersive soundstage experience that, thanks to the full array of Highline^® ultra-slim overhead speakers, seems to be suspended in midair. The result is a powerful listening experience that brings studio-quality sound to the TLX.

This sophisticated speaker array offers multi-zone audio, with selectable speaker level optimization. The system allows optimized privacy sound zones for the driver, for the front seats, or rear seats. In addition, the 3D system is fully integrated with the Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink^® phone system to use the overhead speakers for a new level of hands-free phone clarity.
