Integrated Dynamics System (IDS)

The Integrated Dynamics System automatically and seamlessly fine-tunes the vehicle on a real-time basis to help maximize performance and driver enjoyment, regardless of conditions.

Systems adjusted via mode selection include:

  • Throttle response
  • Automatic transmission function
  • Active Sound Control (ASC)
  • Electric Power Steering (EPS)
  • Adaptive Damper System (ADS) (Advance Package)
  • Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive™ (SH-AWD®)
  • Idle stop functionality
  • Interior lighting theme
Using the console-mounted Dynamic Mode Dial, drivers may preset Comfort and Normal as their default mode (enabled upon engine start), while the Sport and Individual modes can be selected after engine startup. The selected mode is then displayed on the Multi-Information Display located between the tachometer and speedometer.
  • Comfort mode optimizes throttle response, shifting, electric power steering and SH-AWD® rear-wheel torque-vectoring (if TLX is so equipped) for the most luxurious driving experience. This setting makes the TLX relaxed and easy to drive.
  • Normal mode enhances throttle, SH-AWD® rear-wheel torque-vectoring control (SH-AWD® models), EPS and ADS (Advance Package) to sharpen vehicle dynamics. This setting provides direct and sport-tuned response and feel.
  • Sport mode adjusts transmission shift mapping, throttle response, SH-AWD®, EPS, ADS (Advance Package) and Active Sound Control (ASC) to maximize the driver experience.
  • Individual allows drivers to independently select their desired setting (Comfort, Normal or Sport) for all controlled dynamic systems including powertrain (throttle response, transmission shift mapping and Active Sound Control [ASC]), steering, SH-AWD®, idle stop, Adaptive Damper System and interior lighting schemes.
