Type S is the legendary Acura performance line that's writing a new history with every push of the START button. Along with the TLX Type S and MDX Type S, the ultimate expression of Acura's signature high-performance line is the 2022 NSX Type S.

Limited to a production run of just 350 units globally, this award-winning supercar offers a stunning glimpse of Acura Type S performance technology at its peak.

 

EVEN QUICKER

With a combination of a high-output twin-turbo V-6 and torque-vectoring Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® three-motor hybrid system, the NSX Type S is the most powerful road-going Acura ever, with a spectacular combined system output of 600 horsepower and 492 lb-ft of torque. The exclusive 3.5-liter V6 engine has been enhanced for 2022, with more horsepower and torque, thanks to new twin turbos shared with the NSX GT3 Evo race car. Retuned acoustics unleash a pure, raw engine note in the cabin. Meanwhile, hybrid system enhancements boost off-the-line thrust and extend EV-only range.

 

TELEPATHIC TRANSMISSION

NSX Type S routes power through a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), which has been retuned with an all-new Rapid Downshift mode, more aggressive automatic downshifting, even faster upshifts in Sport and Sport+ modes and a higher rev threshold for downshifts in Track mode. It's not really reading your mind, but you might think it is.

 

MORE AGILITY, MORE CONNECTION

Acura engineers have optimized the chassis, suspension and response of the NSX Type S to heighten the hard-wired connection you feel every time you settle into the driver's seat. The retuned Integrated Dynamics System, Intake Sound Control (ISC) and Active Sound Control (ASC) combine to give you more of everything that has made the NSX a legend.

 

DIAL A SMILE

The retuned Integrated Dynamics System gives you just what you want – when you want it.

  • Quiet Mode – Increased battery capacity combines with the new lower gearing for the front electric motors for sharper acceleration from a stop. Stay in pure electric mode longer, even with more aggressive inputs of the accelerator pedal.
  • Sport Mode – Recalibrated suspension dampers and Sport Hybrid SH‑AWD® reduce body roll and brake dive, creating a more stable corner turn-in.
  • Sport+ Mode – Earlier downshifting in automatic mode ups adrenalin. Retuned Sport Hybrid SH‑AWD® is optimized to help improve turn-in.
  • Track Mode – Downshifting into 2nd through 7th gears, the allowable downshift speed has been raised by 1500 rpm, keeping the engine in its most powerful rev range. For the ultimate acceleration from a standstill in Track mode, try Launch Control.

 

NEW FORGED WHEELS, WIDER TRACK

New performance forged-alloy split five-spoke wheels are available in Matte Shark Gray or Gloss Berlina Black. A wider track heightens handling and provides a more aggressive stance.

 

BREMBO® HIGH-PERFORMANCE BRAKING

Six-piston front and four-piston rear Brembo® brakes with red finished calipers are standard equipment. Upgrade to the Lightweight Package for Carbon Ceramic Brembo brakes (available with Black, Silver, Red or Orange calipers) that contribute to a weight reduction of nearly 58 lbs.

 

FRESH-BAKED PIRELLIS

For the ultimate Acura supercar, off-the-rack tires weren't going to cut it. So Acura engineers worked with the experts at Pirelli to develop a new P ZERO™ tire exclusively for the NSX Type S – indicated by a unique “H0” marking on the sidewall. Using advanced modeling technology developed through years of motorsports experience, the sticky new tires contribute to a 6% increase in lateral grip.

 

AN IMPRESSIVE AIR SHOW

Dramatic and edgy, NSX Type S aerodynamics have been further fine-tuned for performance. The reshaped carbon fiber front spoiler minimizes front aerodynamic lift by directing air flow under the car, while a larger front grille opening and four additional openings route air to a sub-radiator behind each corner of the front bumper for improved cooling. Air exiting the rear of the car adds downforce as it flows through a new, larger carbon fiber diffuser modeled after the one used on the NSX GT3 Evo race car.

 

PRECISION CRAFTED AGGRESSION

The NSX Type S has a more aggressive edge than ever before, with a standard carbon fiber front lower spoiler, side sills, rear deck-lid spoiler, diffuser and roof. Available in 10 colors, the NSX Type S is the first Acura product in North America available in an exclusive matte paint finish called Gotham Gray. It will be applied to only 70 units of the 350-car production run. They'll be hard to miss.
