SMS Text Message Function

Incoming text on a paired phone triggers an alert on the Audio/Information Screen or, on vehicles so equipped, the navigation screen.²⁷

• Audio system controls let you choose to have the message read aloud and, for most phones, reply with six factory preset messages:
  • Talk to you later, I’m driving.
  • I’m on my way.
  • I’m running late.
  • OK.
  • Yes.
  • No.
• Selecting “Call” automatically calls the person who sent the text.
• The system works with SMS-capable cell phones with an active data plan and the Message Access Profile (MAP), such as BlackBerry®, Droid X and others.
• The text messaging function is enabled when a compatible phone is paired with the Bluetooth®⁹ HandsFreeLink® system.
