Front Electric Motor

The 35-kilowatt (47-horsepower) front electric motor is integrated with the 7-speed DCT and contributes to the Sport Hybrid’s small-engine efficiency and big-engine power.

  • Provides extra power to the front wheels when needed, such as in passing situations.
  • Enables regenerative braking capability to aid stopping power.
  • Regenerative braking energy captured from the front wheels is stored as electricity in the lithium-ion batteries.
